Te Takarangi

Worked with Dr. Teina Boasa-Dean to reimagine the doughnut economic model as 'Te Takarangi', redesigned through an indigenous Tūhoe Māori lens

Food Ingredients in Bowls

Circular Economy Research for NZ Government

Researched circular economy barriers and enablers fo rthe food system as part of a consortium for the NZ Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment to support the Government's 

Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP).

The research was grounded in a Mātauranga Māori systems approach and in the context of te takarangi and sought to  identify and understand underlying structural drivers.

Moonshot:City

Produced the Moonshot:City podcast and blog series exploring what it means to create a regenerative city

Radical Collaboration Event

Explored the need for 'radical collaboration' to achieve  change across systems. The team hosted a Radical Collaboration event with the Embassy of the Netherlands and engineering firm Beca to explore the use of living labs and to hear about best practises in Europe and in the Australia Circular Economy Hub.

Moonshot Map

Developed the Moonshot Map: a 2023 snapshot of what businesses and organisations were contributing to a circular and regenerative economy.

 

The team developed a taxonomy to show what kind of circular approaches organisations were using, to show the maturity of the NZ circular movement. This was scaled with the support of Swiss philanthropic fund Partners for a New Economy.

Kumu Systems Map

Created a 'kumu' systems map to show how change-agents in New Zealand were working together on sustainability and systems change - and the many parallel / duplicate efforts under way.
